Carmichael Neighborhood

Sleepy, shady streets are common in Oxford.

So there’s this one neighborhood, very close to where I live, in Carmichael, that I love to ride my bike in or just walk around. The reason being is because of the awesome older homes and amazing new ones (remodeled older ones) and the super big and old Maple trees.

The neighborhood is officially Sacramento (95821), but it’s literally across the street from the green sign that says, “Welcome to Carmichael,” so it’s pretty darn close to the edge. Anyway, the area I’m speaking of is between Marconi and El Camino Avenues, and Mission and Eastern Avenues. Know the area?

Streets like Greenwood and South Park pop up, but it’s still like it’s own little universe. Very pretty and quiet with large homes and huge lots. The main reason, however, I like to walk or ride this neighborhood though, is the trees. They are such old and enormous Maples that when you stand at one end of several of the different long roads, it almost seems like you are entering a tunnel. A tree tunnel! The huge tree tops are so big that when you look up, they meet in the middle from one side of the street to the other. Magnificent.

I love exploring great neighborhoods in and around my own Carmichael home, but as I become more and more mobile on my mountain bike, even Folsom and down town are fair game! Let me know if you have a super special neighborhood I can ride through and write about.

Ta ta for now,

Tamara
